Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the ABR Holdings Limited (SGX:533) MD & Executive Director, Yee Lim Ang, recently bought S$111k worth of stock, for S$0.74 per share. That might not be a big purchase but it only increased their holding by 0.1%, and could be interpreted as a good sign.

ABR Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In fact, the recent purchase by MD & Executive Director Yee Lim Ang was not their only acquisition of ABR Holdings shares this year. Earlier in the year, they paid S$0.75 per share in a S$111k purchase. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of S$0.74. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. It is encouraging to see an insider paid above the current price for shares, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Yee Lim Ang.

Insider Ownership
Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It's great to see that ABR Holdings insiders own 56% of the company, worth about S$83m. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
