Jun. 7—HENDERSON — Mayor Eddie Ellington has traded in his job as director of business development and public relations at Charles Boyd Chevrolet for a position of vice president at Auto Mart of Henderson.
As vice president, Ellington will oversee and execute the organization's operations, including staff management, inventory supply and community relations.
"I am looking forward to leading this new opportunity of growth and revitalization of this local Henderson institution," the mayor said. "We have already begun making internal adjustments and changing our strategy to attract different market needs within our community. As the days ahead unfold, improvements to the property and building and general appearance will be noticed and taking place."
A press release praised Ellington for excelling in the areas of executive, operational, sales, finance and marketing as well as planning and leadership. He has a proven track record for network building, collaboration while developing a culture for success with clear priorities and expectations. He brings 25 years of experience and automotive knowledge to Auto Mart.
"We are very pleased that Mayor Ellington will be coming on board to lead our team and look forward to his strong leadership and foundation that he has already put forth and built in the automotive business and community," owner and company President Bobby House said.
House founded Auto Mart in 1982, meaning the company will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year.
