DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - May 23, 2016) - Property development expert, Marcus Hiles announced he will continue to plant 2,500 trees every year to help the environment. As founder and CEO of Texas-based property development firm, Western Rim Property Services, Hiles creates affordable subdivisions where renters enjoy a luxurious lifestyle surrounded by parklands, trails, and green spaces. Planting trees initiative is part of Western Rim's goal to develop sustainable communities throughout the region.

Marcus Hiles considers his company's carbon footprint with every project they take on. He believes plantings can make a significant environmental impact, "Trees and vegetation play a key role in every Western Rim development," Hiles says. "We give our renters the lowest housing density with the greatest amount of green spaces. This strategy extends beyond improving air quality and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. These plants can also minimize pollutants in storm water and reduce overall neighborhood noise. One healthy tree is equal to 10 standard room-sized air conditioners running up to 20 hours a day. Our trees provide much needed shade from the Texas heat and can help our renters reduce cooling needs by up to 30%."

Western Rim's eco-friendly initiatives offer natural resources to both residents and indigenous wildlife, with lasting results. The annual plantings may remove roughly 75 tons of carbon dioxide per year, while generating enough oxygen to sustain over 6,000 people. After a decade, these same trees may deliver an annual reduction of 600 tons of carbon dioxide and create oxygen for 50,000 inhabitants.

Having successfully planted a total of 30,000 trees in the last 10 years, Hiles notes that the annual planting goal of 2,500 trees is part of Western Rim's long-term objectives. "We have seen firsthand the impact our efforts have had, both aesthetically and environmentally," he says. "These initiatives are just the beginning. We purposely plant and donate parklands beyond any government development regulation because we know that our labor today will benefit the ecosystem for future decades. My goal is to continue increasing the tree canopy in all of our neighborhoods as well as create municipal parks, jogging trails, and reserves. Our commitment to proven ecological solutions grants our renters the optimal quality of life in a thriving community."

The Chairman and CEO of Western Rim Property Services and Newport Classic Homes, Marcus Hiles is an acclaimed property development authority, philanthropist, and conservationist who has spent more than three decades creating properties that embody his vision of luxury living. A graduate of Pepperdine and Rice Universities, he is deeply committed to education and has donated over $2.5 million to public and private K-12 initiatives, after school programs, and university career services and job placement programs.
