Helping with new store growth are the two logistics centers that it operates in the U.S. The newly opened second site is outside of Los Angeles and employs 100. At 12,000 square meters (129.2 square feet), it can handle 20,000 daily operations and will supply the states on the West Coast and in the center of the country. The other facility is in Pennsylvania and was opened in 2022. The east coast center is 30,000 square meters (322.9 square feet) and employs 300. It can handle 50,000 daily operations and primarily serves Mango’s online business throughout the U.S.
Mango will have invested more than $70 million for the new stores and job creation between 2024 and 2025. It had just 30 employees in the U.S. in 2020. Mango, which has had a U.S. presence since 2006, began making inroads in the U.S. market in 2022 with the opening of its flagship store in Manhattan at 711 Fifth Avenue.
Mango’s U.S. expansion plans are part of its 4E 2024-2026 Strategic Plan. The U.S. is one of Mango’s five main markets. The plan is for U.S. market to be in the retailer’s top three ranking based on turnover by the end of 2026. Operations include an omnichannel loyal program “Mango likes you.” The 4E strategy includes expanding the store base globally by more than 500 by 2026 and a target of annual sales over $4.3 billion.
The Barcelona-based chain recently opened its 40th store in El Paso, Tex. It will open two more doors by year-end, although store opening details have not yet been disclosed.
For next year, Mango has identified locations in the Sun Belt and the northeast regions of the U.S. Store openings include Bellevue Square in Washington, Michigan Ave. in Chicago, and Fashion Show Las Vegas shopping center in Nevada. Mango will also open stores for the first time in Connecticut, Arizona, Ohio, Oregon, and Louisiana. Other store locations include a focus on the San Francisco area to increase its California presence, as well as another Texas store in the Houston Galleria.
