Hello A-J readers!
We have some variety in this week's business news, including banking, food and fundraising.
More than a year has passed since Prosperity Bancshares, Inc. announced its plan to acquire Lubbock-based Lone Star State Bancshares, Inc. in October 2022. Regulatory approval has been given, and the merger is expected to go into effect on April 1, 2024.
Lone Star banks will continue under their original name until October 28, after which customers will be able to use any Prosperity Bank location.
The second cuisine feature focused on Nepali cuisine, which can be found at Lubbock Street Eats food truck. The owner, Prabesh KC, is a Texas Tech chemical engineering alumni who wanted to share a taste of home with the community.
"We would like people to know that if they are looking for something to change in taste buds, they should definitely try our food," KC said.
On Wednesday, March 27, people can stop by a Jersey Mike's location to get a meal and support a local cause. As part of the company's Day of Giving, the Lubbock locations will donate 100% of sales to the Children's Miracle Network, UMC Health System.
Going into next week, I plan to have another international cuisine feature, and the end of month business roundup.
As always, thank you for reading and supporting the A-J.
