EVANSVILLE − Evansville’s restaurant scene continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Here are nine new restaurants that will be opening in 2024.
Cap & Cork in Henderson, Kentucky
The Cap & Cork on Water Street in Henderson, Kentucky, will serve steaks, burgers and elevated bar food, all created and presented with upscale flair.
The bar will focus on Bourbon with craft cocktails and draft beer. Outdoor seating and garage doors mean diners will be able to take advantage of the gorgeous river view. It is expected to open by early March.
Cap & Cork will be at 104 N. Water St., Henderson, Ky.
Turkish and Kurdish restaurant (not yet named) in Newburgh
Edessa Turkish and Kurdish restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee, will be opening a restaurant in the former Edgewater Grille and The Landing building on the riverfront in Newburgh.
The restaurant doesn't have a name yet. It will serve Turkish and Kurdish dishes alongside more traditional pan-Mediterranean fare such as hummus, kofta, kebabs and baklava, as well as a few American dishes. An opening date has not been announced, although renovations should start before the end of January.

Nellie's North in Evansville
Nellie's Restaurant in Newburgh, a very popular spot for breakfast and lunch, recently bought the Wolf's Bar-B-Que building on North First Avenue.
It will be a second Nellie's location called Nellie's North, but the larger building means a larger dinner menu and more options. There will also be a baking kitchen for owner Renee Jimenez to make desserts for both locations. The restaurant will hopefully be open by the end of March.
Nellie's North will be at 6600 N. First Ave.
NOCHE on Evansville's Franklin Street
NOCHE is the newest restaurant by Richie Patel, owner of The Rooftop Food and Drink in Downtown Evansville.
Noche will be on Franklin Street, with a menu of higher-end, Mexican-influenced food including specialty tacos and appetizers. Expect to see a variety of meat, seafood and vegetable taco fillings with toppings tailored to each; appetizers such as guacamole and street corn dip; and a bar with high-quality cocktails and a great tequila selection.
Noche will hopefully be open around the beginning of February. It will be at 2215 W. Franklin St.
A new restaurant by Randy Hobson in Newburgh
Randy Hobson, owner of Pangea Kitchen, Pangea Pizzeria, and 2nd Language is putting a new pan-Latin restaurant inside the former Wine Down building in Newburgh. A name has not been decided upon. The dishes will be inspired by the cuisines of Mexico, Central America and South America, presented in an upscale format. Construction will begin as soon as the business gets approval, and if all goes well a summer opening is possible.
