(Nasdaq: BLUE) today announced updated data from patients with beta-thalassemia who require regular blood transfusions treated with betibeglogene autotemcel (beti-cel, approved commercially as ZYNTEGLO™) in clinical studies. The data was presented today at the 66th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition.

Long-term outcomes with beti-cel in adult and pediatric patients with TDT were presented in a poster session. The data focused on 63 adult and pediatric study participants who had received beti-cel in a Phase 1/2 or Phase 3 study. Two participants had 10 years of follow-up, and 51 (81.0%) participants had 5 or more years of follow-up. Additionally, iron status was assessed in study participants who achieved TI and discontinued chelation therapy. Results showed that majority of participants treated with beti-cel achieved TI.
