Rappers often flaunt a life that the average person can only dream about. From private jets to jewelry that costs as much as some people’s homes, these artists are enjoying the lifestyles of the rich and famous — and making sure that we all know it. And it seems like every day a new artist emerges sharing tales of their wealth and glory.

One of the somewhat newer yet still established artists on the scene is Lil Baby. His star rose exponentially in 2017 and since then he has been a fixture on the award circuit and in countless songs, collaborating with major artists like Kanye West, The Weeknd and Lil Durk. So, with lots of wins and plenty of songs that reached the top of the Billboard charts, how much is Lil Baby’s net worth?

From Trouble to Success

Lil Baby, born Dominique Armani Jones in 1994, is originally from Atlanta, Ga. Not much is known about his childhood except that Dominique and his two sisters were raised by a single mom after his dad left when he was two years old. Additionally he dropped out of high school and turned to selling drugs. This landed him in and out of jail several times including in 2012 for possession with intent to sell and 2013 for another marijuana possession charge.

Shortly after serving two years in jail for that charge, he started rapping. By age 17 he was a fixture at the local Quality Control Records in Atlanta and was later encouraged by the label founder, Kevin “Coach K” Lee. After this, he released a mixtape in 2017 titled “Perfect Timing” that featured Lil Yachty and Young Thug.

Focusing on his momentum, Lil Baby continued releasing mixtapes, each one building in popularity with even more impressive featured artists than the last. This included appearances by artists like Atlanta rapper Mario who appeared on “2 The Hard Way.” The mixtapes were well received and one of the singles, “Freestyle,” was eventually certified gold by the RIAA in February 2020.

Harder Than Ever and His Label Launch

After consecutive successes with his mixtape, Lil Baby decided to launch his own record label, titled “4 Pockets Full” (4PF) in 2017. However, the label was later renamed to Glass Window Entertainment and includes artists such as 42 Dugg and Rylo Rodriguez.

In May 2018, Lil Baby released his first studio album, “Harder Than Ever,” which debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard 200. Top tracks from this album include “Southside” and the song “Yes Indeed” featuring Drake. The second major single peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Meanwhile, “Life Goes On,” featuring Gunna and Lil Uzi Vert charted at 74 on the Billboard Hot 100.
