LG makes strategic investment in Apex.AI

In This Article:

South Korean electronics giant LG Electronics has made a strategic investment in Apex.AI, a developer of software for mobility and software-defined vehicles (SDVs) based in Palo Alto, California. The US company confirmed the investment was part of an extension to its Series B funding round and the first by a South Korean company.

Apex.AI describes itself as a provider of “cutting-edge” scalable and safety-certified software solutions for the mobility industry, claiming that its “flagship Apex.Grace software framework and development kit and related products are helping accelerate the deployment of software-defined vehicles by enabling seamless integration between proven automotive hardware and next-generation software architectures.”

Apex.AI co-founder and CEO, Jan Becker, said in a statement: “Adding LG Electronics as a strategic investor is an exciting milestone for Apex.AI as we continue to expand our global partnerships. LG Electronics’ investment underscores the critical role of software-defined vehicle technology in shaping the future of mobility and validates Apex.AI’s approach to delivering scalable, production-ready solutions. Beyond investment, we look forward to deepening our collaboration and fostering innovation within the global market."

Apex.AI confirmed that technical collaboration between the two companies, first announced at the end of 2024, highlights the increasing importance of software-defined vehicles and the need for tight integration with proven automotive hardware. “LG Electronics’ investment complements Apex.AI’s existing strategic partnerships with leading global automotive OEMs and suppliers, reinforcing its position as a key player in the industry,” the company added.

"LG makes strategic investment in Apex.AI" was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand.
