LeRoy Staples-Fairbanks III appointed to MSHSL Board of Directors

recently appointed LeRoy Staples-Fairbanks III of

Cass Lake

to the Minnesota State High School League Board of Directors.

According to a release, Fairbanks' term as a parent member — effective Aug. 1 and expiring July 31, 2026 — will involve supervising and regulating interscholastic athletics and musical, dramatic and other contests between Minnesota high school students.

Walz and Flanagan also appointed members to the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy, the Board of Podiatric Medicine, the Board of Veterinary Medicine, the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Board, the Governor's Workforce Development Board, the Commission of the Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing, the Governor's Council on an Age-Friendly Minnesota, the Board of Barber Examiners and the Governor's Task Force on Broadband.

"The Governor and Lieutenant Governor (seek) qualified and diverse individuals who are passionate about using their knowledge, skills and lived experiences to serve the state of Minnesota," the release said.
