DLA Piper's comprehensive training programme for in-houselawyers helped it win the award for client managementinnovation.
The WIN initiative (What In-house lawyers Need) comprisesevents, tools, forums and networking opportunities designed todevelop and improve the technical, personal and commercial skillsneeded to work in-house. The firm has also introduced a programmecalled Future Legal Leaders that offers support and training tojunior lawyers, recognising the long-term value of establishingrelationships with potential future general counsels. DLA Piperhosts more than 70 WIN events every year, with more than 5,500clients registered for the programme across the world (WIN nowoperates in 28 cities globally). It also provides an on-demandinteractive online training platform, which provides webinars andrecordings of live panels, and is available to registered in-houselawyers regardless of whether they are clients or not. Aside fromstandard in-house training on topics such as presentation skillsand negotiation, the programme also offers slightly offbeatsessions on joy and happiness, meditation and stress management,and even nutrition for enhanced performance.
