Ignition Law won the ABS award for its efforts to disrupt thelegal sector by providing high quality legal services toentrepreneurs, startups and small businesses at a more affordableprice.

The firm's model relies on technology and flexible workingpractices, improving operational efficiencies that it can pass onto its clients. The firm has an open-plan London office, where ithas a core staff of eight, with a further 18 remote workers, themajority of those in the UK. The firm offers real-time trackingsoftware so that clients can check on the status of their matterand see a running total of fees, as well as using securecloud-based storage so that clients can access their documents atany time. It also ensures its hires have an entrepreneurial mindset both to better understand client needs and to help grow IgnitionLaw itself. In its first year of business the firm added 191clients, with an aim to double that in the following 18 months (atthe time of writing it was just two clients short of thattarget).

An imaginative use of ABS and an impressive example of usingtechnology innovatively to achieve efficiencies while ensuringquality service, a judge said.
