Elevator and escalator company KONE has secured a significant order to supply a range of people flow solutions for the Peninsula Integrated Resort in Cambodia.
The project, developed by Chinese foreign investment company Peninsula Bay Investment Co, is set to enhance the tourist appeal of Sihanoukville, a key destination in Preah Sihanouk province.
The commencement of the project is slated for the first quarter of 2025, with completion scheduled for 2026.
The mixed-use property will boast a variety of amenities, including retail, dining, cultural, and entertainment options, alongside a five-star hotel with approximately 2,870 rooms, offices, and serviced apartments.
KONE Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa executive vice president Samer Halabi said: "A foreign direct investment project, the development of the Peninsula Integrated Resort reflects renewed confidence in Cambodia's construction sector.
"By equipping this five-star hotel and commercial hub with a suite of people flow solutions, we're happy to help strengthen the appeal of Sihanoukville as an attractive travel destination and business location."
The contract includes the delivery of 108 elevator units, featuring 57 KONE N MiniSpace passenger elevators, 38 KONE N MonoSpace, two KONE S MonoSpace, ten KONE MiniSpace high-speed passenger elevators, and a KONE TranSys DX heavy-duty elevator.
Additionally, the order encompasses 20 KONE TravelMaster 110 commercial escalators and the KONE E-Link monitoring system.
Manufacturing responsibilities will be undertaken by KONE, while installation and maintenance services will be provided by Octech Electric Company, one of KONE's exclusive local distributors.
China State Construction Engineering Corporation was appointed as the main contractor while the architectural design has been crafted by ADC. KONE officially recorded the order in the fourth quarter of 2024.
