Kone has secured an order to deliver people flow solutions for the mixed-use Aga Hall Estate residential complex located in Mumbai, India.

The redevelopment is being overseen by Prince Aly Khan Hospital Charitable Trust, which owns the property.

Aga Hall Estate is the developer while Leighton India is the main contractor. P G Patki Architects was responsible for the project's architectural design.

The development is part of a growing trend in the city centre, driven by population growth and limited urban space, resulting in the construction of taller buildings.

Set amid the skyline of Mumbai, the Aga Hall Estate blends commercial and residential spaces, addressing urban sprawl along the Arabian Sea's coastline.

The latest development will feature a school, a purpose-built health facility, and two high-rise towers of 45 and 56 storeys, offering more than 349 luxury apartments.

Kone will supply 19 MiniSpace passenger elevators and two MonoSpace elevators designed for residential buildings, featuring eco-efficient solutions, along with the lifts' destination control system to enhance traffic flow and minimise wait times.

The project is anticipated to be completed by 2027.

Kone Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa executive vice-president Samer Halabi said: “The high-rise trend in Mumbai is remarkable. The Aga Hall Estate not only contributes to Mumbai’s evolving skyline but also addresses Mumbai’s space constraints in a sustainable and visually appealing manner.

"Drawing on KONE’s extensive experience in high-rise developments across Asia, we’re proud to contribute to this prestigious project, offering a smooth and enjoyable elevator ride for over 2,000 daily equipment users.”

Mumbai is expected to see a surge in skyscrapers by 2030, with several of its buildings surpassing 40 floors.
