Founders lead the firm
Henry R. Kravis and George R. Roberts, KKR’s current co-chairmen and co-CEOs (chief executive officers), also cofounded the company. They are at the forefront of the company’s strategic decision-making and have been involved in all stages of the company’s development.
KKR & Co. L.P. (KKR) has a team of more than 1,200 employees, including directors, other professionals, and senior advisors. The company also has 330 investment professionals advising across industries around the globe.
KKR employs investment professionals from diverse backgrounds such as private equity, real estate, hedge funds, and other investment vehicles. The executives have experience in operations, strategic consulting, liability management, and risk management.
Senior advisors for operations
KKR also uses the services of 38 senior advisors for additional operational and strategic insights. The senior advisors serve as board members on the portfolio companies. They also help source transactions, evaluate individual investment opportunities, and improve the operational performance of the portfolio companies. Senior advisors include chairmen, chief executive officers, and chief financial officers of Fortune 500 companies. They also include individuals who have held positions in public agencies and major corporations worldwide.
KKR’s management has reflected a commitment by deploying almost $9.8 billion in capital along with limited partners. This is higher than other asset managers such as The Blackstone Group (BX), The Carlyle Group (CG), Apollo Global Management (APO), and asset managers that form part of the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF).
