Julius Baer has selected Andreas Weisshaupt as its new head of the Lucerne branch, starting from 2025.
He will succeed Jürg Haverkamp, who has headed the Central Switzerland branch over the past five years, after having held various management positions at Julius Baer in Lucerne since 1999. Jürg Haverkamp has decided to focus on client service until his retirement in 2026.
In addition, Weisshaupt holds more than 20 years of experience in private banking. He has been Head of Private Banking Entrepreneur Desk at Luzerner Kantonalbank since 2018. Previously, he was responsible for the Private Clients & Family Office division at the consulting firm Balmer-Etienne in Lucerne.

On 1 December 2024, Reto Calonder will assume leadership of Julius Baer‘s Eastern Switzerland area and St. Gallen branch.
Michael Eicher, who has chosen to take on a new challenge outside the Bank, will be succeeded by him.
Meanwhile, Claude Lüthi, head of Julius Baer’s Aargau/Solothurn and Foundations, will temporarily oversee the St. Gallen branch until Calonder arrives.
Calonder is a finance industry veteran of over three decades. He’s worked in wealth management at UBS and Schweizerische Bankgesellschaft in Eastern Switzerland since 1991, with a two-year hiatus. He’s had a variety of expert and managerial roles there.
