Arc Thrift Stores is holding a job fair Thursday for positions at all of its 30 stores along the Front Range, including the one at 1115 S. Prairie Ave. in Pueblo.

Part-time and full-time positions, including customer service supervisors, managers-in-training, cashiers, donation attendants, and warehouse and production workers, are available.

The job fair is being held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lakewood, but applications are welcome online at arcthrift.com/employment on Thursday, or beforehand and afterward.

Arc Thrift Stores is one of Colorado's largest employers of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

It was designated an essential business during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing stores to continue to take donations of items for distribution to at-risk and vulnerable communities.

In 2021, Arc delivered 60 tons of food to thousands of families and individuals, distributed clothing to those experiencing homelessness, and provided material for masks, hygiene products, hospital scrubs, and protective equipment to organizations throughout Colorado, it says on its website.

New CEO at Rocky Mountain Eye Center

Gavin Torres has been promoted to CEO of the Rocky Mountain Eye Center, which provides general and specialist eye care in the Pueblo region.

Torres started with RMEC in December 2021 as the director of clinical operations, was moved into the chief operating officer role in March 2022, and was named chief executive officer on April 14.

"I am happy to serve southern Colorado as the new CEO of Rocky Mountain Eye Center and hope to bring a fresh perspective to an organization that has deep roots and an outstanding reputation in the communities that they serve," he said in a statement sent to The Chieftain.

"My core mission will be to help Rocky Mountain Eye Center be the premier eye care center and premier health care employer in southern Colorado."

RMEC has three locations in Pueblo — at 27 Montebello Ave., 711 W. Abriendo Ave., and 3954 Sandalwood Lane — and one in Pueblo West at 1021 N. Market Plaza, Suite 110. There are also locations in Alamosa, Cañon City, Walsenburg, La Junta, Trinidad, Salida, and Raton, New Mexico.

It is taking new patients and accepts most medical and vision plans offered in Colorado.
