Japan urges U.S. to resolve fiscal uncertainty

TOKYO, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso urged the United States on Tuesday to resolve uncertainty over its fiscal problems and avoid repeating a fiscal standoff over its debt ceiling next February.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, Aso also said the two sides agreed to work together so that a deal will be made on a free trade pact, known as the Transpacific Partnership, by year end.

Asked about currencies, Aso said the two discussed various issues but declined to elaborate.
