Italian Denim Laundry LIM Group Joins Bluesign

Bluesign is growing its network of denim partners.

The Swiss chemical management firm announced Monday that Italian denim laundry LIM Group has become its newest “system partner.” As a system partner, LIM joins a network of companies working toward removing harmful substances from the beginning of the manufacturing process.

Bluesign stated that the collaboration “sets a new standard for European clean denim manufacturing.” The family-owned laundry is Bluesign’s first laundry system partner in Italy. Bluesign noted that its auditing process in in the textile supply chain has gained even more importance regarding compliance with the EU legislation such as CSDDD, CSRD and ESPR.

“Joining the Bluesign system marks a pivotal moment for LIM as we continue to prioritize sustainability in our operations and with our brand partners,” said Gianfranco Stevanin, CEO and co-owner of LIM Group.

Founded and managed by the Stevanin family since the 1980s, LIM’s laundry has distinguished itself in the denim industry with its expertise in washing and unique dyeing techniques. LIM integrates eco-friendly technologies, including ozone and laser machinery, wastewater purification systems, and renewable energy-powered operations. LIM has been adhering to ZDHC’s Roadmap To Zero program since 2020.

Clients include Valentino, Balenciaga, Gucci, Dsquared2, Maison Margiela, Replay, Jacob Cohen and Dondup.
