ISG to Evaluate VMware Ecosystem Worldwide

Upcoming ISG Provider Lens™ report will assess providers empowering enterprise VMware modernization and transformation journeys

STAMFORD, Conn., April 17, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm, has launched a research study examining the portfolio strengths and market competitiveness of service providers in the dynamic VMware ecosystem.

The study results will be published in a comprehensive ISG Provider Lens™ report, called VMware Ecosystem, scheduled to be released in September 2025. The report will cover the many VMware partners who offer services covering infrastructure modernization, application development and integration, platform optimization and governance and management.

Enterprise buyers will be able to use information from the report to evaluate their current vendor relationships, potential new engagements and available offerings, while ISG advisors use the information to recommend providers to the firm’s buy-side clients.

The growing relevance of hyperscalers, rising adoption of containerization and DevOps practices and demand for Kubernetes management, mounting cyber threats and decentralized computing are collectively reshaping enterprise IT. VMware has adapted to these changing circumstances by offering solutions such as VMware Cloud on AWS and the Tanzu platform for Kubernetes.

"VMware partners are adapting to the changes in VMware’s platform," said Aman Munglani, director and principal analyst, ISG Provider Lens Research. "Today you’ll find partners offering services covering infrastructure modernization, application development and integration, platform optimization and governance and management."

ISG has distributed surveys to more than 60 providers serving the VMware ecosystem. Working in collaboration with ISG’s global advisors, the research team will produce three quadrants representing the VMware platform services the typical enterprise buys based on ISG’s experience working with its clients. The three quadrants are:

  • Build and Modernize IT Foundations, evaluating VMware ecosystem providers offering services to help organizations build and modernize their IT systems. These providers enable organizations to effectively leverage virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure for hybrid cloud adoption and to accelerate their cloud migration initiatives.

  • Optimize and Secure Operations, assessing providers offering services to help enterprises optimize and secure their multicloud runtime environments. Services in this space include network security, endpoint security and threat detection, identity-based access control, automation and cloud security.
