Infineon Technologies has joined forces with EVE Energy to advance the development of next-generation battery management systems for the automotive sector.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) aims to deliver comprehensive solutions that promise to enhance the safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency of electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
Under the terms of the MoU, Infineon will provide a complete chipset to EVE Energy. This chipset will include microcontroller units, balancing and monitoring integrated circuits (ICs), power management ICs, drivers, MOSFETs, controller area networks, and sensor products.
The integration of these components is expected to enable EVE Energy's battery management system to achieve higher standards of safety and reliability.
Infineon smart power senior vice president and general manager Andreas Doll said: “The rapid growth in electrification has driven the need for advanced battery solutions. The partnership between Infineon's advanced battery management ICs and EVE Energy`s advanced battery technologies will pave the way for the next generation of intelligent battery packs.
“Infineon offers a comprehensive and advanced system-level solution that meets the diverse needs of customers. We believe that further cooperation between the two sides will foster positive interaction and collaborative development at various levels.”
EVE Energy co-founder and president Liu Jianhua said: “EVE Energy has experienced rapid growth in the field of battery management systems in recent years, and we are determined to continue this development. Therefore, we highly value the partnership with Infineon.
“Our goal is to jointly introduce more advanced solutions to the market that meet customers' needs and drive the development of reliable and efficient systems.”
In November, Infineon introduced the MOTIX TLE9189 gate driver IC, designed for safety-critical applications with 12V brushless DC (BLDC) motors.
With the launch of this new three-phase gate driver IC, the company aims to meet the growing demand for motor control ICs required for by-wire solutions.
"Infineon and EVE Energy sign MoU to advance battery management systems" was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand.
