New Advisory Board Biographies: Linda Bernardi is currently Chief Innovation Officer at IBM. In this role, she determines the future vision for Cloud and IoT, as well as the disruption that it entails. Bernardi is a serial entrepreneur in disruptive innovation. Prior to joining IBM, she started and ran her disruptive innovation consulting firm Straterra Partners for 5 years. Previously she founded her company, ConnecTerra Inc., which is the first company to build the middleware for RFID and connect to enterprise IT. Barnardi is also the author of her bestseller book "ProVoke" and the "ProVoke 'How to' Manual," which discusses the specifics of how and why to disrupt in large enterprises. She invests in startups in the area of disruptive innovation, and serves as an advisor and a columnist at the Washington Post.
Alan Boheme is the CTO, CIO and Chief Enterprise Architect for The Coca-Cola Company. In these roles he is responsible for Global IT Operations and for leading the introduction of new technologies. Previously, Boheme was Head of IT Strategy and Architecture for the financial services firm ING; and held CIO positions with Juniper Networks, Sage Software and General Electric; and served in a variety of senior leadership positions in both IT and marketing with DHL and a number of logistics and airlines companies. Boheme has been on the forefront in developing a number of technology innovations, including early development of airline yield management systems, global community cargo systems, computerized reservation systems (CRS); and more recently advanced digital targeted /personalized marketing, and cloud-based security (Software Defined Perimeter) architectures and solutions. He is a founder and member of the Board of Directors for the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), a 40,000 person non-profit focused on advancing the security methods and requirements for cloud and mobile computing.
Sandip Gupta is a results driven senior executive with 25 years of experience managing and growing global cloud and IT infrastructure product and service businesses. Over the past 20 years, Gupta has led companies in the cloud lifecycle, software designed data center, automation and operations spaces. Currently he manages sales and marketing for the cloud business at NTT DATA, Inc. Prior to that he served in leadership roles at Virtela, Netmagic and Ensim. He is an active investor and advisor and board member at multiple cloud and infrastructure companies.
Greg Papadopoulos joined NEA as Venture Partner in 2010 after more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry and academia. He focuses on early-stage systems, software and semiconductor companies. Prior to NEA, Papadopoulos served as EVP and CTO of Sun Microsystems, where he guided the company's $2B R&D portfolio. Before Sun, he was an Associate Professor of EECS at MIT, where he worked on massively parallel dataflow computing architectures. He also helped found a number of companies, from video conferencing (PictureTel) to computational fluid dynamics, and was an engineer with HP and Honeywell. Papadopoulos is an active advisor for the schools of engineering at UCSD, UC Berkeley and MIT, and is a trustee for the Computer History Museum. Papadopoulos holds an undergraduate degree from UCSD and an S.M. and Ph.D. from MIT. He is also a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum.
Russ White has 20 years of experience in building networks, products and protocols from both a vendor and provider perspective. He has worked in routing protocols and routed network design for the past 15 years. He has spoken at Cisco Live, Interop, LACNOG and other global industry venues; is actively involved in the IETF and the ISOC; and has co-authored more than 30 software patents in the area of network protocols, and nine books in the area of network protocols, design and architecture. During his more than 15 years at Cisco, he played a critical role in the development of the Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) and Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr). White is currently working in the area of network complexity and programmable networks, and thinking about how to encourage and teach the next generation of network engineers.
