Adani's NDTV and Ambani's Network18 told a New Delhi court they are concerned OpenAI scrapes and reproduces content from their websites, violating copyright laws. The lawsuit, filed by Indian Express, Hindustan Times, NDTV, and Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA), claims OpenAI's actions pose a "clear and present danger" to publishers' rights.

This follows a December 2024 lawsuit by the Federation of Indian Publishers and a December 2023 case by The New York Times against OpenAI and Microsoft. Authors George R.R. Martin and John Grisham also sued OpenAI over AI training practices.
