Equity indexes fell yesterday, but closed off the worst levels of the session.
The S&P 500 declined 9.08 points to 1857.44. It tested as low as 1849, and ended the session back below its 20-day moving average. Resistance is at 1880 and 1840 is support.
The Nasdaq 100 slipped 35.67 points to 3617.39, its lowest close since Feb. 10. It has resistance at 3700 and support at 3550.
The Russell 2000 fell 15.5 points to close at 1178.23. It has resistance at 1210 and support at 1160.
The VIX climbed 0.09 to 15.09. It had climbed as high as 16.07 in the morning, but was negative just before the closing bell. The VXST, the 9-day Volatility Index, was up 0.6 to 15.3, back above the VIX.
VIX futures were mixed, with April down 0.05 to close at 15.95 and May flat at 16.45. That pushed the VXX up fractionally to $44.37.
