Hospitality chain Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) Goa Resorts has partnered with Indian drinks company Bisleri International to launch a sustainability-focused project.
Dubbed ‘Bench of Dreams’, this initiative involves the creation and installation of benches made entirely from recycled plastic bottle caps.
The benches also feature backdrops painted by talented artists from the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA).
IHCL Goa operations senior vice-president Ranjit Phillipose said: “Sustainability is at the core of IHCL’s Paathya initiatives, and our collaboration with Bisleri International exemplifies our dedication to creating tangible change.
“Through the ‘Bench of Dreams’ project, we aim to inspire individuals and organisations to think innovatively about recycling and to join us in building a greener tomorrow.”
The collaboration combines Bisleri International’s expertise in plastic recycling with IHCL Goa Resorts’ dedication to sustainable practices, the Economic Times reported.
These “environmentally responsible” benches have been strategically placed across Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa and Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa.
Bisleri International CEO Angelo George said: “This project highlights our commitment to closing the loop in plastic waste management and showcases how innovative solutions can drive sustainable development and a circular economy.
“Through this collaboration, IHCL and Bisleri International invite all stakeholders, guests, and residents to join us on this transformative journey. Together, we aspire to create a future where sustainability is an integral part of everyday life.”
Earlier this month, the IHCL unveiled the signing of a new hotel under the Gateway brand in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.
This development is said to be part of a conversion project and aims to capitalise on the growing tourism market in the region.
"IHCL Goa Resorts and Bisleri collaborate on sustainability project" was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
