Hyundai Motor Company has announced it is exploring new vehicle concepts for India’s last-mile mobility market in collaboration with TVS Motor Company Ltd, a local manufacturer of motorcycles and three-wheeled rickshaws. The South Korean automaker is one of India’s largest vehicle producers, with 605,000 local sales and a further 159,000 exports last year.

Hyundai unveiled concept models of battery-powered three-wheeled and four-wheeled micro vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi last week, with which it aims to “reimagine mobility solutions that prioritise convenience, sustainability and adaptability as part of India’s dynamic transportation landscape”, adding that “the project seeks to contribute to India’s mobility market and empower last-mile connectivity in Indian cities.”

Hyundai confirmed that while no binding agreements have been signed, the automaker is exploring the potential to offer TVS Motor its design, engineering and technology, as well as the opportunity to jointly manufacture and market the vehicles.

Sharad Mishra, president of Group Strategy at TVS Motor, said “TVS is proud to explore a partnership with Hyundai Motor to shape the future of urban mobility. By combining Hyundai Motor’s global expertise with our deep understanding of mobility solutions, we aim to develop next-generation micro-mobility solutions that redefine last-mile connectivity. This potential collaboration reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability.
