Hyundai Motor America has unveiled new features to enhance the electric vehicle (EV) charging experience for its customers.

The MyHyundai with Bluelink app now offers improved public charging options, simplifying the process for Hyundai electric vehicle owners.

These features aim to provide increased flexibility and control over charging, enhancing user convenience.

Hyundai Motor North America digital business planning and connected operations vice president Manish Mehrotra said: “Our award-winning MyHyundai with Bluelink app has already set a high standard for convenience and innovation in the automotive industry.

“With the introduction of plug and charge and in-app-charging features, we are taking another significant leap forward enabling our drivers to use the MyHyundai with Bluelink app or plug and charge to recharge their EVs."

The app, already noted for its charge management tools and improved remote command execution, now allows users to find and pay for charging directly.

This eliminates the need for third-party apps or physical credit cards across most US charging networks.

Users can locate, navigate, select, and activate charging stations, and monitor sessions within the app, the company said.

Additionally, Hyundai Pay enables seamless payment by allowing users to add credit cards within the app.

The app also offers dynamic EV trip planning with charger routing, accessible both on the app and the vehicle’s infotainment screen.

The in-app charging feature is compatible with the 2025 IONIQ 5, 2026 IONIQ 9, and future IONIQ and electric models.

Available charging networks include IONNA, Tesla Supercharger, ChargePoint, and EVgo.

Mehrotra added: "These new features not only simplify the charging process but also enhance the overall ownership experience, reinforcing our commitment to making electric vehicle charging more accessible and user-friendly. We continue leading the way in delivering cutting-edge solutions that improve our customers' lives.”

This development follows Hyundai Motor's report of a 2% year-over-year decrease in global sales, with 365,812 units sold as of March.

"Hyundai enhances electric vehicle charging experience with new app features" was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand.
