Business Insider The HTC One M9. For the last three years, HTC received high praise for being one of the only Android phone makers to take design seriously with its flagship One series of phones.
This year, it's the same story with the company's newest flagship phone, also called the HTC One, which the company announced at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
The new One, also called the M9, has a similar design to last year's model, but it's a bit thinner, lighter, and much more comfortable to hold. It'll come in four colors: Gray, silver, pink, and gold.
One of the biggest improvements is the camera, which got a boost to a 20 MP sensor. The front-facing camera uses the company's "Ultrapixel" technology to pull in more light so photos don't appear dark.

On the software side, the HTC One has an app launcher that can display certain apps based on your location. For example, if you're at work, you can program the phone to show you apps for calendar, email, and note taking. At home, it can show you Netflix, Twitter, and Facebook. You get the idea.

HTC also has a partnership with Yelp to give you alerts on places to eat around lunch and dinner time. Your home screen will flash with the suggestions if you turn on the feature.

A few other features: You can change the software's appearance through HTC's new theme store. HTC has a bunch of themes already made, or you can make your own. The phone is also compatible with standard web-connected TVs and speaker systems, so you can beam movies and music from your phone over to those devices.
The HTC One will launch later this spring on all the major carriers. Pricing will vary carrier to carrier.
