Housing data, Zew lead calendar

Today brings a mix of economic data from around the globe.

The first items are due early across the Atlantic: Eurozone consumer prices and Germany's Zew sentiment survey. U.S. housing starts and building permits, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. ET, are expected to show annualized readings of 1.041 million and 1.07 million, respectively, for February. That would compare with 1.065 million and 1.053 million the previous month.

Plug Power, DSW, and Burlington Stores are among the noteworthy companies that will report earnings in the pre-market. Oracle and Adobe Systems follow in the afternoon. China's house price index is due late in the evening.

Tomorrow's agenda will be dominated by the Federal Reserve's interest-rate decision, although mortgage applications and crude-oil inventories come out earlier. FedEx and General Mills are scheduled for the morning, followed at the closing bell by Jabil Circuit, Cintas, and Williams Sonoma.
