NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Apr 24, 2015) - Brooklyn Crown, an independent clothing brand, announced the launch of apparel inspired by Chris Georgalas' illustrations, comic books, pop imagery, and graffiti. The New York City-based brand aims to share the Colombian-American artist's creations beyond galleries and allow art lovers to not just look at his work, but wear it instead. Georgalas has become a renowned name in New York City, especially with luxury boutique hotel, Hotel 3232, exclusively featuring his pieces and selling originals and canvas prints at its Front Desk.
Conveniently located at Murray Hill and Flatiron, Hotel 3232 offers more than a relaxing, entertaining environment for its guests. Serving tourist and businessmen alike, the hotel is part of the cosmopolitan and vibrant scene in Manhattan. Surrounding it are famous restaurants, bars, clubs, art galleries, and museums. Art lovers are welcomed with a special treat: Georgalas' artwork is displayed across hallways and rooms, adding to the unique atmosphere, which sets the building apart from other boutique hotels in the area. Through each piece, guests can peek into the artist's inner thoughts on different aspects in his environment. "Creating, whether it was sculpting or painting, has always been what calms me. It has been a creative escape," reveals the resident artist of Hotel 3232. "The drive to create often comes from music I listen to at the time. Ideas have also been inspired by movies I've seen and experiences I've been through. The characters in my work often reflect something about me."
Georgalas' love for art is the result of his American adoptive family's encouragement to become creative. From an early age, he has been given different tools to paint and sculpt. After completing high school in 1998, he moved on to the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York, where he majored in fine arts with a concentration in sculpture and minor in graphic design. He later completed his final term in Italy at Scuola Lorenzo De Medici, where he expanded his knowledge on sculpture and computer animation. Over the years, he developed a unique style, which the famous CBGB's 313 Gallery believes to be "the next progression of a Duchampian ready-made aesthetic suited and amended for contemporary art." While Georgalas is currently working with Brooklyn Crown, he always returns to his studio to create masterpieces worthy of being showcased at trendy locations such as Hotel 3232.
Surrounded by important New York City landmarks like the Empire State Building, Times Square, and Madison Square Garden, Hotel 3232 is at the heart of the city's most vibrant neighborhood. The luxury boutique hotel delivers excellence in service for affordable pricing to suit business travelers, tourists, artists, and even locals. In addition to comfortable rooms with floor to ceiling windows, Hotel 3232 welcomes visitors to avail on-site facilities such as a concierge team who knows the city inside out. With their help, guests can discover nightclubs, Broadway shows, museums, and even helicopter rides. The hotel also offers a complimentary breakfast at the nearby Captain's Café, access to exclusive food and drink deals at the music mecca The Cutting Room, and a membership at Boom Fitness for the duration of the stay.
