Honda Motor unveiled prototypes of the first two models it plans to launch under the company’s new “0” Series battery electric vehicle (BEV) brand at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The company released teaser images of the two models last month.
The two models, the Honda 0 SUV and Honda 0 Saloon, will be produced at American Honda Motor Company’s plant in Ohio. The Honda 0 SUV will be the first to go into production, ahead of its planned launch in North America in the first half of 2026, followed by global markets later on.
Honda also introduced its original vehicle operating system (OS), the ASIMO OS, for use in Honda 0 Series models, while its Sony Honda Mobility Company joint venture also unveiled its first model under the new Afeela BEV brand at the show. The Afeela 1 four-door, all-wheel-drive sedan is expected to go into production later this year, with US deliveries scheduled to start in early 2026.
Also at CES 2025, Honda previewed its in-house Level 3 automated driving technologies, as well as its “ultra-personal optimization” of the ASIMO OS.
Honda 0 SUV
The mid-size Honda O SUV, based on the company’s newly developed dedicated BEV architecture, will be the first Honda 0 Series model to go into production. Its styling is based on the company’s “Thin, Light and Wise” design concept which provides a spacious cabin and good visibility.
As with the Honda 0 Saloon, the Honda 0 SUV will feature a wide variety of next-generation technologies based on the ASIMO OS. The model will be fitted with a steer-by-wire system, which enables integrated control of other by-wire devices such as steering wheel, suspension and brakes, resulting in “outstanding handling”.
Honda 0 Saloon
The Honda 0 Saloon will be the flagship model of the Honda 0 Series and will also feature several next-generation technologies that embody the “Thin, Light and Wise” development approach of the Honda 0 Series. The concept model’s bold styling has been carried through, with the prototype featuring a low height and sporty “wedge-shaped” body. Honda said the model’s cabin is “more spacious than expected based on the exterior dimensions.”
