Homes in Winnebago County sold for higher prices recently: See how much here

Newly released data from Realtor.com for August shows that potential buyers and sellers in Winnebago County saw higher home sale prices than the previous month's median of $278,400.

The median home sold for $287,100, an analysis of data from Realtor.com shows. That means August, the most recent month for which figures are available, was up 3.1% from July.

Compared to August 2023, the median home sales price was up 3.6% compared to $277,200.

Realtor.com sources sales data from real estate deeds, resulting in a few months' delay in the data. The statistics don't include homes currently listed for sale and aren't directly comparable to listings data.

Here is a breakdown on median sale prices:

  • Looking only at single-family homes, the $296,600 median selling price in Winnebago County was up 4.6% in August from $283,500 the month prior. Since August 2023, the sales price of single-family homes was up 5.9% from a median of $280,000.No single-family homes sold for $1 million or more during the month.

  • Condominiums and townhomes increased by 12.2% in sales price during August to a median of $249,750 from $222,500 in July. Compared to August 2023, the sales price of condominiums and townhomes was down 0.1% from $250,000. Three​ condominiums or townhomes sold for $1 million or more during the month, compared to one recorded transaction of at least $1 million in August 2023.

In August, the number of recorded sales in Winnebago County rose by 7.2% since August 2023 — from 153 to 164. All residential home sales totaled $52 million.

Across Wisconsin, homes sold at a median of $310,666 during August, down 1.8% from $316,516 in July. There were 4,771 recorded sales across the state during August, down 12% from 5,420 recorded sales in August 2023.
