Herbalife (HLF) – The company said it misstated an important member growth metric 28 times over three earnings calls since last year. Herbalife said a database scripting error caused it to misreport the number of active new members.
Intel (INTC) – The chip company’s stock was upgraded to outperform from neutral at RW Baird. Analyst Tristan Gerra also raised his price target from $33 to $38 per share.
Groupon (GRPN) – Court documents reveal that IBM (IBM) is suing the daily deals site over alleged patent infringement. IBM claims Groupon infringed on four patents.
Barnes & Noble (BKS) – The company reported fiscal 2016 third-quarter earnings per share of $1.04 on revenue of $1.41 billion, missing on both the top and bottom lines. Barnes & Noble said it sees fiscal 2016 same-store sales flat with last year.
Sotheby’s (BID) – The international auction house has named Michael Goss, a former partner and managing director at Bain Capital, as chief financial officer. The move is effective March 28.
Kroger (KR) – The Cincinnati-based company reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $559 million on profit of $0.57 per share, topping Wall Street estimates.
Costco (COST) – The warehouse chain reported a decline in quarterly profit, hurt by higher costs. But the company posted an increase in comparable-store sales for the first time in three straight quarters.
Ciena Corporation (CIEN) – The telecom equipment maker narrowed its loss of $11.5 million in its fiscal first quarter. Excluding certain items, earnings per share rose to $0.18 from $0.12 one year ago.
Facebook (FB) – The social network’s stock price target was raised to $135 from $125 at Nomura.
