(WHTM) — You probably know that when you order through a food delivery app, not everything you spend goes straight to the restaurant.
But one restaurant owner says he hasn’t been getting any of his money from one service and he couldn’t get any help from them, so who did he call? Our Seth Kaplan of course.
“I’ve been in Harrisburg cooking seafood for 25 years,” Assad Brunner said. For the past five years he has been here at 17th and Walnut with Sad’s Soul Food Cafe.
“I’ve had Grubhub for a really, really long time,” he said. “They put my money in every Friday. “Four months ago, somebody else came by, an Uber Eats rep, asking if I wanted to sign up with them as well.”

And he did, so let’s see how that is going.
“Not good,” Brunner said. “They get their food. I don’t get no money.” None for any of the food. “Can’t get a dime.” he said.
He says the rep who signed him up got the bank account number wrong. He got Uber the right number.
“And they said they were going to have my money in my account within the next two hours,” Brunner said, adding that was three weeks ago. But no money. They asked for more information. He sent it.
“Your money will be there within 6 to 24 hours,” he said he was told, which was two weeks ago.
A series of emails also promised prompt help. The apps – not the only way to order here. You can call, or walk in, or use the apps.
What the impact of getting nothing for almost $5,000 worth of Uber Eats orders? “Starting to receive water bills and shut-off notices,” Brunner said. ‘My electric bill is due, and I’ve been waiting on that money to pay my bills and now I’m pulling out of my personal account.”
“I kept calling my bank,” Brunner said. “And again, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing. I couldn’t get any results from anybody, especially them. So I decided to call you guys. I appreciate you coming out and it really means a lot.”
But not as much as getting his money would mean. We contacted Uber. They have already gotten back to him – and just as sure as we got our food. This time – Brunner really is just about to get his money.
