South Korea-based Hankook Tire has announced leadership change within its European division, with Jongho Park appointed as the president.
This appointment is part of the company’s plan to strengthen its presence in its “key” European market.
Park will succeed Sanghoon Lee as the new chief operating officer (COO) and president of Hankook Tire Europe.
Lee will now assume the roles of president and CEO at Hankook Tire & Technology.
Jongho Park became a member of the Hankook Tire Group in 2015, initially serving as Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO) and heading the Korea Business Headquarters.
Before his tenure at Hankook, Jongho Park garnered a wealth of experience in various leadership roles.
Prior to that, he served as a certified public accountant (CPA) at Deloitte for ten years and later as COO at Humax, a venture company in South Korea.
Park said: “I'm very much looking forward to my new role here in Hankook’s European Headquarters, particularly because Europe is one of our core markets and is currently undergoing a profound transformation in the mobility sector.
“Our most important task will be to play a key role in shaping this transformation through our innovation and continuing to strengthen the market position of our company.”
In November 2024, Hankook completed the acquisition of Hanon Systems, a manufacturer of automotive components and one of the largest global suppliers of vehicle thermal management systems.
The acquisition, finalised through Hankook Tire & Technology, a core business of the Hankook & Company Group, gives Hankook & Company a 54.77% stake in Hanon Systems.
"Hankook Tire Europe gets Jongho Park as new president" was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand.
