High Desert stores

In the High Desert, Grocery Outlet plans to move into the Rancherias Plaza Shopping Center on Highway 18 in Apple Valley.

The grocery will occupy the nearly 17,800-square-foot building that formerly housed CVS pharmacy near the shuttered 99 Cent Only Store between Viva Maria’s Mexican Restaurant and The Gym.

The Apple Valley Grocery Outlet is projected to open Nov. 16, 2025; however, the date may change, company officials told the Daily Press.

In August 2021, Grocery Outlet opened on Hesperia Road in Victorville.

Grocery Outlet has more than 500 stores across the United States.

Company officials said they use an opportunistic buying model to surprise and delight shoppers with unexpected and rare finds in addition to providing great fresh produce and meats they expect from their neighborhood grocery store.

The company estimates this business model can save shoppers as much as 60% over conventional grocery stores, on average, according to the company’s website.
