Greek officials meet with Eurozone creditors, continuing to wrangle with the country's unwieldy debt load. Germany's Ifo business-climate index is also due early in the morning.
The only U.S. data release is durable-goods orders at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists expect growth of 0.5 percent in March, compared with a 1.4 percent drop the previous month. Excluding transportation equipment, they're projected to increase 0.4 percent after contracting 0.6 percent in February.
The earnings lineup includes Biogen Idec, American Airlines, Xerox, and LyondellBasell Industries report quarterly results.
Next week keeps the focus on quarterly results, with some key economic headlines as well. Monday brings the Dallas Federal Reserve's regional activity index, but the biggest event of the day will be tech giant Apple's numbers after the closing bell.
Tuesday's agenda includes the Case-Shiller index of home prices and consumer confidence. Ford Motor, Pfizer, United Parcel, Masco, Merck, Boston Scientific, Yandex, and Bristol Myers Squibb report earnings in the pre-market. Western Digital, Akamai Technologies, and Express Scripts follow in the afternoon.
Wednesday has two major economic headlines: the initial estimate for first-quarter gross domestic product and the Federal Reserve's statement on monetary policy. There are also several European confidence surveys early and pending home sales. MasterCard, Starwood Hotels, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Norfolk Southern and Waste Management issue results in the morning. Williams, Baidu, NXP Semiconductor, Flextronics, Lifelock, and Pilgrims Pride follow in the afternoon.
Thursday features European inflation, initial jobless claims, personal income and spending and the Chicago Purchasing Managers Index. Exxon Mobil, Celgene, AmerisourceBergen, Mosaic, Teva Pharmaceutical, and Nokia report in the pre-market. Visa, Gilead Sciences, LinkedIn, Eastman Chemical, Expedia, Skyworks Solutions, JDS Uniphase, and Western Union announce after the closing bell.
The week concludes with the Institute for Supply Management's key manufacturing index on Friday morning, along with construction spending and auto sales. CVS Health, VF, Chevron, and CBOE report earnings.
