MILL VALLEY, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 24, 2015) - With 8.6 million Americans still unemployed, Glassdoor, the world's most transparent jobs and recruiting marketplace, is launching On-the-Job Training Finder, a new interactive job search mapping tool to find on-the-job training (OJT) career opportunities, such as apprenticeships and trainee positions. These OJT opportunities allow people to learn new skills, or start an entirely new career, while getting paid.

The OJT Finder is being launched in conjunction with the White House Upskill Summit on April 24, 2015 that will include Vice President Biden and 150 employers, labor leaders, foundations, non-profits, educators and tech innovators who are answering the President's January call to action to help workers of all ages advance into higher paying jobs even if they don't have a higher education. Glassdoor co-founder and CEO Robert Hohman is participating in the summit and will be demonstrating the OJT Finder as a helpful resource for job seekers that any interested organizations can integrate into their websites through a free API.

Using the OJT Finder, job seekers can easily browse for new opportunities via an interactive map, searching by specific city, allowing them to pinpoint how many OJT opportunities are currently available in each city. This makes it easier to search for trainee positions near home or within a reasonable driving distance. Upon clicking on each city, job seekers will see current OJT openings for that city, including the company hiring for each OJT role with details on requirements and how to apply.

Glassdoor's new tool makes it easy to simultaneously search apprenticeships, including many of those registered through the Department of Labor, in addition to non-registered apprenticeships and trainee positions, across a variety of sectors. There are currently more than 70,000 on-the-job training positions being advertised by employers in all 50 states, ranging in experience requirements from no college to some college or work experience to a college degree. These on-the-job training positions range in base salary from $20,000 to more than $60,000, according to Glassdoor's salaries database.

"Glassdoor's OJT Finder makes it easier for Americans to search opportunities that provide workers important training while getting paid to advance their careers and earning potential," said Hohman. "We hope this new tool will help connect more people to new opportunities, and we are also making the tool available to any organization for free via an easy API."
