Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.64%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Software and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.64% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 1.20%, and the TecDAX index added 1.22%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 2.03% or 4.60 points to trade at 231.60 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 1.96% or 3.82 points to end at 199.02 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was up 1.76% or 4.30 points to 248.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 1.73% or 0.54 points to trade at 30.66 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 1.17% or 0.15 points to end at 12.70 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was down 0.97% or 2.50 points to 255.30.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 12.21% to 26.37, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was up 7.54% to settle at 101.30 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 3.93% to close at 17.58.

The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 5.82% to 2.25 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 3.58% to settle at 14.54 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 2.07% to 85.34 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 8.49% to 57.50, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was up 3.93% to settle at 82.00 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 3.93% to close at 17.58.

The worst performers were Eckert&Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 3.26% to 43.34 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 0.88% to settle at 19.13 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was down 0.84% to 14.22 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 403 to 202 and 35 ended unchanged.

Shares in SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) rose to all time highs; rising 1.96% or 3.82 to 199.02.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.44% to 14.50.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.67% or 17.00 to $2,554.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.88% or 1.40 to hit $75.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.37% or 1.06 to trade at $78.64 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 101.28.
