BERLIN, Nov 22 (Reuters) - German talks on the 2024 budget planned for Thursday have been cancelled in response to a constitutional court ruling last week that has upended the government's financial planning, the government's household committee spokespersons said.
"The Federal Constitutional Court has presented us with major challenges," they said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
"We want to respond to this with care and draw up a budget that takes into account all of the arguments in the ruling and at the same time the requirement of the Basic Law to conclude the budget this year. (Reporting by Holger Hansen, writing by Kirsti Knolle; editing by Madeline Chambers)
