German regulator: wholesale prices have risen significantly

In This Article:

BERLIN, July 26 (Reuters) - Wholesale gas prices have risen significantly due to an announced reduction in supplies via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline from Wednesday, the Bundesnetzagentur regulator said on Tuesday.

Russia tightened its gas squeeze on Europe on Monday as Gazprom said supplies through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany would drop to just 20% of capacity.

"Wholesale prices have risen significantly as a result of the delivery reduction announced for tomorrow," the regulator said in a regular update, adding that Germany's overall gas storage level was at 66.4% versus 65.9% reported a day earlier.
