GAM Investments has appointed Steven Williams as the new head of UK and Channel Island Distribution, a move aimed at bolstering the company's business growth and client relationship management in these regions.
Williams, with a background in asset management sales, will report to GAM Global Head of Client Solutions Rossen Djounov.
Djounov commented: “Steven's extensive experience and client-centric approach make him a valuable addition to our team. His belief in GAM's new strategic direction, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence will drive our teams to deliver best-in-class investment strategies and services to the UK’s investors. We are confident that his leadership will further strengthen our distribution efforts and enhance our client relationships in the UK and Channel Islands.”
Williams brings to GAM a wealth of experience from his stint at Amundi Asset Management, where he led active fund sales in the UK for over five years.
His expertise spans working with wealth managers, family offices, private banks, and discretionary fund managers, particularly within specialist asset classes and alternatives.
Before his role at Amundi, Williams also held the position of Head of Fund Sales for the UK and the Middle East at Alquity Investment Management.
In his new role at GAM, Williams is tasked with managing key client relationships and leading an experienced sales team.
He is also charged with the introduction of GAM's investment capabilities to prospective clients.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the position, Williams stated: “Drawing on my 14 years of experience in asset management, I am certain that the investment range at GAM will add tangible value to the portfolios of UK investors through the differentiated, lower correlated returns.”
