Fuddruckers to close, relocate Lubbock location; Hawaiian Bros will move in

A Lubbock burger restaurant is relocating, and a Hawaiian barbecue restaurant will move in, according to company statements.

Fuddruckers Restaurant, known as the home of the "World's Greatest Burger," on 5501 Slide Road will close its doors at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24. This is due to the restaurant's relocation to 6616 Milwaukee Ave., which will open in January 2024.

"We are excited about this next chapter for Fuddruckers in Lubbock," said Mickey Rogers and Daniel Stanton, the franchise owners. "We look forward to welcoming both our loyal customers and new faces to our new location. We are the World’s Greatest Burger because you get to build it yourself. We will have the same great Fuddruckers quality in just a new location."

This announcement also cleared up some confusion regarding Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, which had listed 5501 Slide Road as a pending location in the summer.

Natalie Boscia, vice president of Snackbox, the PR company for Hawaiian Bros, confirmed the Hawaiian grill would open at that location. The company signed the lease for the Slide Road spot around July, and company officials could not answer further questions at the time.
