(Reuters) - FTAI Aviation said on Thursday it has concluded its review of allegations made by short seller Muddy Waters last month, dismissing the claims about misleading financial reporting as "without merit".

Muddy Waters, which had taken a short position on FTAI, had criticized the company's financial reporting as "highly misleading."

Shares of the New York-based firm, which leases aircraft and provides after-market maintenance for commercial jet engines, rose more than 18% before the bell.

The company said that it will file its annual report as scheduled later in the month.
