Franchise group Smalls Sliders to open in Stillwater

May 24—Smalls Sliders, a cheeseburger "slider brand," is coming to Oklahoma.

On the list of likely cities to receive a "Can" — what the innovators call the modular, recycled building of the restaurant — are Stillwater, Tulsa, Sand Springs, Broken Arrow, Owasso and Muskogee.

The owners hope to open its first Smalls Sliders in Oklahoma by early 2025.

The franchise group in Oklahoma is partnered with Slide Thru whose President is Kyle Abrusley. Abrusley has a sales and marketing background in business in Oklahoma.

Details on which city might receive the first Smalls Sliders is not yet known.

Abrusley told the News Press that the group is "finalizing all our details on that right now."

"After meeting with the all-star team behind the brand, we all felt very confident in its success and ability to become a staple here in Oklahoma," he said. "We are thrilled to be a part of the brand's impressive growth and open our first Can very soon."

The CEO of Smalls Sliders Maria Rivera said, "Expanding into Oklahoma was a logical next step for our brand as all neighboring states already have Cans under development. Kyle and his team are well-equipped to introduce our name to the state's major cities, and we're eager to see them open in the coming year."

Smalls Sliders have a drive-thru and walk-up window and are based in Atlanta. It was designed by restaurateur Brandon Landry and is backed by industry investors as well as former NFL star Drew Brees.
