France to stand by BNP against possible U.S. fine, Reuters says

France's foreign minister Laurent Fabius said the country would stand by the interests of BNP Paribas after sources said it was up against a possible $10B-plus fine from the U.S., according to Reuters, citing comments from Fabius. Fabius said, "If there is a an error or a violation then it's normal that there is a fine, but the fine has to be proportionate and reasonable. These figures are not reasonable."
