In This Article:

Avio S.p.A. (BIT:AVIO) shareholders will have a reason to smile today, with the analysts making substantial upgrades to this year's statutory forecasts. The consensus estimated revenue numbers rose, with their view now clearly much more bullish on the company's business prospects.

After the upgrade, the four analysts covering Avio are now predicting revenues of €410m in 2020. If met, this would reflect a reasonable 4.8% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. Prior to the latest estimates, the analysts were forecasting revenues of €372m in 2020. It looks like there's been a clear increase in optimism around Avio, given the nice gain to revenue forecasts.

These estimates are interesting, but it can be useful to paint some more broad strokes when seeing how forecasts compare, both to the Avio's past performance and to peers in the same industry. We would highlight that Avio's revenue growth is expected to slow, with forecast 4.8% increase next year well below the historical 32% p.a. growth over the last three years. Juxtapose this against the other companies in the industry with analyst coverage, which are forecast to grow their revenues (in aggregate) 4.2% next year. Factoring in the forecast slowdown in growth, it looks like Avio is forecast to grow at about the same rate as the wider industry.

The Bottom Line

The highlight for us was that analysts increased their revenue forecasts for Avio this year. They're also forecasting for revenues to grow at about the same rate as companies in the wider market. With a serious upgrade to expectations, it might be time to take another look at Avio.
