GREENWICH, CT--(Marketwired - July 13, 2016) - Fieldpoint Private, the fast-growing wealth advisory and private banking firm serving ultra-high net worth families and institutions, today announced that it has entered the Palm Beach, Florida, market, with a new office and the addition of Joseph McCool as Managing Director and Senior Advisor.

The firm, which was established in 2008, originally attracted widespread attention because of its high-profile founders who had served as chairmen and CEOs of firms such as Merrill Lynch, UBS Americas, TD Ameritrade, The Home Depot, Time Inc. and Gillette, among others. To date, it has operated from offices in Greenwich, Connecticut, and New York City, and has grown to serve more than 600 families and entrepreneurs across the United States, Latin America and Europe.
The expansion to Palm Beach follows last week's announcement that the firm has added a West Coast presence with the addition of Clay Skurdal, who is based in Eugene, Oregon.
"Fieldpoint Private was founded on the notion that size is the enemy of excellence -- that you can deliver intellectual firepower that will compare favorably to the largest firms the world, and you need not compromise objectivity and exceptional personal service in order to ensure it," said Fieldpoint President and CEO Bob Matthews. "From the beginning, this idea resonated with a substantial clientele -- many of whom choose to reside in Florida," slightly different idea he added.
Mr. Matthews said that Mr. McCool represents exactly the kind of highly selective addition that will continue to mark the firm's growth. "Joseph McCool's presence in Palm Beach gives us an ideal professional to help reach even more families and entrepreneurs who will appreciate what makes Fieldpoint special," said Mr. Matthews.
Mr. McCool, a nearly 30-year wealth advisory veteran, joins Fieldpoint Private following 13 years with Capital Group Private Client Services, where he advised families and business owners on approximately $450 million in investments as a Senior Vice President and investment counselor. Prior to that, Mr. McCool spent a decade with Sanford Bernstein as a principal, and served in corporate finance with Smith Barney.
"What impresses me most about Fieldpoint is the quality of the professionals, from investment research, to banking, to credit," Mr. McCool said. "They deliver strategic thinking, technology and solutions that would be considered impressive at any of the world's largest firms. To experience these with the exceptionally personal service of a boutique firm is truly remarkable."
