BabyCare Program Promotes Healthy Pregnancies
One way that Fidelis Care supports expectant mothers is through the BabyCare program, which provides resources and support to promote healthy pregnancies.
When members join BabyCare, a Maternal Care Associate is assigned to help them throughout their pregnancy. The Associate has special training in prenatal care, and can assist members when they have questions or concerns. The Associate can help members find programs, services, or resources they may need. The program includes a special focus on providing one-on-one support for high-risk pregnancies.
Associates also make sure newborns are enrolled in health insurance, which will cover their checkups and immunizations as they grow. Free or low-cost coverage is available through the New York State-sponsored Child Health Plus program all year round.
Dr. Shah recommends that any woman who plans to become pregnant this year enroll in health insurance and begin routine prenatal care as early as possible in the pregnancy.
