WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - May 3, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage
The Government of Canada is providing total funding of $447,990 to Canadian Parents for French - Manitoba (CPF-MB) for its 2014-2017 programming.
Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, made the announcement today while taking part in the provincial awards ceremony for CPF-MB's annual public speaking event, the Concours d'art oratoire.
CPF-MB is an organization dedicated to promoting and creating French-second-language (FSL) learning opportunities outside the classroom that allow young people to learn and use the French language.

Some of the activities that will be offered by CPF-MB are the provincial Concours d'art oratoire, French summer camps, French cultural tours, French immersion drama forums, and basic French theatre workshops.

In addition to providing more than 80,000 Manitoba students with extracurricular activities in French, CPF-MB offers resources to support parents in their choice of FSL learning opportunities for their children.

The Government of Canada is providing this financial support through the Promotion of Linguistic Duality component of the Enhancement of Official Languages Program.
